Computer Cut Vinyl Lettering

Vinyl is a flexible film with a adhesive backing that is on a a silicon based backing paper that is cut with a plotter

The two most common types of vinyl are Intermediate which is a 3 to 5 yr. outdoor material and High Performance which is an 8 yr. and in some cases 10 yr. outdoor durability.

If the surface has any complex curves High Performance must be used for it is thinner and can conform to a larger degree of surfaces.

It is the most widely used form of making signs in use today.

With complete flexibility of the type of images that can be made, thanks to computers and the software made just for the sign making trade.

After being cut by the sign plotter the excess vinyl (that is not being used for the image) is removed (this is called weeding) then a latex covered paper is placed on top of the image (transfer tape) so now the image is sandwiched between the silicon based release liner and the latex based transfer tape
